Steve Jobs is laughing it up in his big fancy house and big fancy car, all because of the iPhone(I suppose thats what I would do!). For those wondering, it was 74 days before the old version of the iPhone hit the one million mark. But its big brother the iPhone 3G came in three days.
With a million iPhone 3Gs out there, one has to wonder just how many applications were downloaded through the App store? Actually no speculation is needed, Apple has announced that there have been over 10 million downloads in the first three days.
People in wait in line for the new phone that's coming out the iPhone 3g. So a news reporter decided to take action to his own hands and make fun of the line waiters.Sp since he took actions to his own hands he got insulted by the line waiters. So he decided to ask questions but he got a answer in which he was OWN'D. See video to see what happen.
If there was ever any doubt that Apple would fill every last seat at their WWDC event, it can finally be put to rest. Though Apple had to extend early registration last month, the event is now fully booked, and no more developers, press members, anyone can register. It does not mean you can not get in on the action, just you can not attend the event.
Developers and others hoping to get in are not fully out of luck, they will just have to wait till after the event to get all the news and video clips they crave. It will not be too painful though, as they are supposed to have details and videos on the Developer site “immediately” after the event concludes. Some clips will be free, and others will require a paid for developer account.
WWDC is to be held June 9th through June 13th, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Remember to keep it locked on iPhone Buzz June 9th for all the latest from WWDC, and our live coverage of the event.

So, for all of the people who have been asking "when does 2.0 come out" or "when will the 3G iPhone be announced"; this is the answer to your question. Hit the jump for a portion of Apple's exciting press release.
AT&T has let the cat out of the bag yet again this year. A memo revealed this morning shows that AT&T is preparing for something, something big. The same thing happened last year before the launch of the original iPhone. Basically, the memo outlines that from June 15th to July 12th, all vacations should be rescheduled, and no new ones will be approved.
All rumors point to this time period as being the release date for the 3G iPhone. The question is though, is AT&T preparing for the launch of the new iPhone? The answer is quite possibly yes. This excerpt shows that they are talking about the same time last year, and that there is an opportunity to benefit from an exciting new product.
The memo tells AT&T employees that they can expect there sales to soar. No kidding. We will all have to wait until WWDC though. AT&T may not be very good at keeping secrets, but I know another company starting with an ‘A’ that is.
McAfee’s anti virus solution for the iPhone, called Stinger, would be the first of the of it’s kind. A version of it was leaked to the public recently, and the official statement from McAfee is that the software is a proof of concept and is not ready for the public to use yet. This is very clear when you consider the application was not built with the SDK, and would have to be written over again for use on iPhones using the SDK.
Though McAfee has not announced any plans to follow through and actually get this software out the door, they are pleased with the reaction they have gotten from the iPhone community. All this means that contrary to earlier reports that said this software could be malicious, it seems that is not the case. Either way, be careful, as leaked software has a tendency to become infested with malware.
To some, it may seem that it is not necessary to have anti virus on the iPhone, or mobile phones in general for that matter. This is not true, the iPhone firmware 1.1.1 was jailbroken and subsequently unlocked thanks to an exploit, that with anti virus software may not have worked. While that was a case where the exploit was good, it could have just the same been used to execute malicious code. With mobile phones becoming more and more advanced, you will surely be seeing more of this type of software.
Some iPhone users on AT&T are noticing a pleasant surprise the last few days, free access to AT&T wireless hot spots using their iPhone. This applies to all popular AT&T hot spot areas, such as Starbucks and Barnes & Noble. It seems only iPhone customers are getting the free WiFi love from AT&T, but hey it is still better than AT&T charging everyone.
When you connect to an AT&T wireless hot spot from your iPhone, you will be taken to a special screen only accessible from an iPhone (unless you fake the user agent string). You will then be prompted to enter in your phone number on the page. The number is then validated against AT&T’s records, and if it checks out to be an iPhone, then viola you are now using free AT&T WiFi.
There is of course some things that need to be noted. First off, this is not an iPhone thing, it is an AT&T thing. Meaning that unlocked iPhone in your pocket is not going to be able to do this. However, if you do have the iPhone on another carrier and have your buddies iPhone number on AT&T, then you are in. On that note, if you know a valid AT&T iPhone number, you can fake the user agent on a laptop, and access the WiFi as well, but obviously MacPhase do not condone “stealing” WiFi.
On Wednesday, Electronic Arts and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment announced that the "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" game will be released later this year on several platforms, including the Mac, to coincide with the release of the WB film.
A specific release date and pricing for the Mac was not announced.
Hrmpf reports on an interesting new patent application from Apple published today. "Head Mounted Display System" describes a method for display images within a goggle-like headset that is worn by the user.
While these headset displays already exist, Apple describes decoupling a "laser engine" from the goggles itself. Instead, it is a separate piece which generates the laser light which is piped into the headset. This helps reduce the bulk of the goggles themselves.
Apple notes that when the unit is not being used for playing video "no images are being created and thus the display unit acts just like glasses." In fact, they suggest that the headset could even include lenses and actually double as daily-wear glasses.
